Chairman of the Higher Polutical Council Saleh Ali Al-Sammad (sometimes Al-Samad) was martyred by a Saudi-Led Coalition airraid last Thursday while he was on a trip to Hodeidah to boost the morale of the Army snd Popular Committee troops guarding the vital port to Yemen, which accounts for most of the imports entering Yemen.
President Al-Sammaf was known for his courage and humility and very hard work. He was always on the move, even inside the territory dede in Saudi Arabia , which is under control of Yemeni Army and Popular Committee fighters, who include fighters from Andar Allah (Houthis) anf other factions fighting against the Saudi-Led aggression on Yemen. Mr. Al-Sammad is a long-term fighter with the Houthis since the six Sa’ada Wars and a trusted aide of the Leader of Ansar Allah, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi. He is an elequrnt speaker and held the Presdency at the most challenging of times, with the betrayal of some of the leadership of the People’s GGenera Congress (PGC), the tight siege and blockade and ghe move of thr Central Bsnk to Aden.
He managed to steer the resistance against the Saudi-Led aggression on Yemen, not allowing the enemy to gain one inch of territory beyond the low populated plains of the Southern Governorates and in some desert areas in the East. More important, he let the free unoccupied areas of Yemen almost free of crime znd terrorist bombings and political assassinations.
The Higher Political Council issued a statement at around 7:00 PM today of the untimely death of President Sammad. The Higher Political Council appointed Mr. Mahdi Al-Masshat to replace Mr. Sammad.
Al-Sayid Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi praised the martyred President as a devougband loyal true nationalist whose ultimate wish was to achieve martyrdom. He also saif that the promised that the aggressor states, led by US and Saudi Arabia bear all the legal responsibility for this crime and the subsequent consequences arising thereof. The National Defense Council put the nation on full military and defense alert.
Mr. Al- Sammad was loved by most people he dealt with and especially the average citizens, who saw in him a seincere devout man to God and country.
